Mathematik (Mathematics)

Master of Education (M.Ed.) - Extension subject (90 ECTS credits)

Note

The establishment of this degree programme is subject to approval by the Ministry of Science, Research and the Arts.

Studying mathematics as additional subject (with 90 ECTS) complements a teaching degree in two other subjects and provides university-level teacher training in mathematics and mathematics education for teaching at secondary level I ('Sekundarstufe I'). The programme may be started alongside the Bachelor's in the two main subjects. As proof of academic aptitude for teaching mathematics, it can also be studied without a Master's thesis (75 ECTS). Mathematics as additional subject (with 90 ECTS) supplements the M.Ed. degree in the two main subjects with mathematics as a teaching subject in secondary level I. This opportunity to teach one of the most important school subjects opens up additional prospects for aspiring teachers.
