Academic content
The programme focuses on the independent, comprehensive and process-oriented care of persons of all ages in acute, long-term, inpatient and outpatient care settings, as well as the performance of advanced clinical practice tasks. The programme combines nursing research and development with modern nursing practice.
During the programme you will acquire in-depth knowledge and practical skills in the following areas:

- Interdisciplinary Foundations of Nursing
- Professional Nursing and Advanced Clinical Practice Tasks
- Nursing Science and Research
- Practical Modules
Practical placements in various care settings at the University Medical Centre Freiburg, the provider of the practical university training, and its external partner institutions are an important part of the programme. The practical phases take place predominantly in acute care. It is also possible to specialise in paediatric care during the practical phases of the programme.

Master’s degree
This qualification also enables students to progress to a Master’s degree programme and to pursue careers in academia and research.
