The Student Mentoring Programme coordinates and supports the following mentoring programmes for students at the University of Freiburg.
Intercultural Mentoring
In the Intercultural Mentoring Programme (ICM), international first-year students (mentees) receive personal, academic and social support from experienced students from all faculties (mentors). UniMailbox
The UniMailbox is the official email address for students and doctoral candidates at the University of Freiburg. From the summer semester of 2025, it will be mandatory for all study and doctoral-related matters.
All important messages from HISinOne, the ILIAS learning platform and other central systems will be sent exclusively to this address. Please also use this address for enquiries to the Dean’s Office, the Examinations Office or teaching staff.
The UniMailbox follows the pattern: UniAccount@email.uni-freiburg.de (e.g. ab1234@email.uni-freiburg.de). In addition, an alias in the form firstname.surname@email.uni-freiburg.de is set up. The use of private email addresses for study purposes is then no longer permitted.
UniAccount
The UniAccount is the central digital identity for students and staff at the University of Freiburg, which is required to access various IT services provided by the university.
You will receive your login details by email after you have enrolled. With your UniAccount, you can use the following IT services:
- HISinOne – Campus Management (instructions for the study planner, timetable creation, exam registration and more can be found in the Campus Management department’s wiki)
- ILIAS – the university’s learning platform
- University-wide Wi-Fi with ‘eduroam’
An overview of the University’s IT Services can be found in the following flyer:
The ‘myUFR’ app
Use the ‘myUFR’ app to get off to a good start in your studies! The app contains information about events, Mensa menus, contact persons, checklists and much more.
You can find the app in the Google Play Store and Apple Store to download to your smartphone. Alternatively, you can use the web version of the app (limited functions without navigation, locations, news feed, Skills Check).
