The Penn State-Freiburg partnership is based upon manifold collaborations in the research area of Living Materials. Thus, the Rising Stars Academy which its focus on academic fields such as Chemistry, Biology, Genetics, Informatics, Physics, Engineering, Microscopy, Medicine and especially Materials Science can be seen as another big step towards the strengthening of international research collaboration.
