Integrating gender and diversity aspects into research and teaching contents: Opportunities and conditions for success

Second workshop in the UFR Diversity Audit

Equity, Diversity & Inclusion at universities not only means ensuring the conditions for equal opportunities and protection against discrimination, but also addressing research and teaching contents. Gender and diversity perspectives contribute to understanding the complexity of circumstances and provide comprehensive answers to future questions. It is therefore a common requirement in national and international research funding to review research projects for the relevance of gender and diversity aspects.

In order to contribute to a better understanding of gender and diversity-related issues and to provide students with the relevant skills, the UFR has included ‘Strengthening gender, diversity and inclusion in research, teaching and transfer’ as an objective in its structure and development plan. To further develop the diversity strategy in the Diversity Audit, we are now focussing on this goal and want to address the question, how the integration of gender and diversity aspects in research and teaching contents can be further strengthened:

Our auditor, Dr Ute Zimmermann from TU Dortmund University, will moderate the workshop.

We warmly invite researchers and lecturers from all disciplines as well as colleagues who help to shape research and teaching at the UFR in a variety of functions to join us for this workshop. You will have the opportunity to network, develop joint ideas and contribute these to the auditing process.

When: Monday, 23 June 2025, 13:00-17:00

Where: Rectorate 06th floor, 002 and 003

Language: Basic knowledge of German is required, as the moderation and input will be in German. Both English and German contributions are possible in the discussion rounds.
