New Members of the Law Faculty

Inauguration Lectures

Professor Kristin Boosfeld and Professor Moritz Hennemann gave their inaugural lectures at the University of Freiburg on 4 July. After a welcome by Dean Professor Jan Lieder, Professor Kristin Boosfeld spoke on the topic of ‘Claims to Power and Normative Conflict’ in the field of private international law. Professor Dr. Moritz Hennemann then gave his lecture on the
topic of ‘Digital Legal Society.’

International Lectures

Anglo-American Visiting Professor Programme

In the summer semester of 2025, the Anglo-American Visiting Professor Programme took place once again at the Faculty of Law of the Albert Ludwig University of Freiburg. Renowned professors from leading universities in the United States were recruited for this programme, offering our students a unique opportunity to acquire knowledge of American law. In addition, Dr John Sorabji, Associate Professor (University College London) and barrister, offered an introduction to British constitutional law for the first time this year.

Internationa Lectures

Lecture by Professor Olivier Beaud: ‘The case of Marine Le Pen’s ineligibility’

Professor Oliver Beaud, one of France’s best-known and most renowned constitutional law experts, visited Freiburg for the second time. Many members of the Faculty of Law attended his lecture on Thursday, 22 May 2025.
