The collection is accessible to employees of the Institute of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology and the Institute of Molecular Medicine and Cell Research as well as to students of molecular medicine.

Workshop
The precision mechanics and electronics workshops are available to all working groups at the Institute of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology and the Institute of Molecular Medicine and Cell Research.

Cooperation project to promote life sciences in schools in collaboration with the School and Education Department of the Freiburg Regional Council.
History
The Institute of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology moved into the newly built ZMBZ in 2008, some 173 years after the first lecture on ‘Physiological Chemistry’ was held in Freiburg.
