Research Training Group 3186
‘‘Looking for signposts towards
the New Standard Model of particle physics (New SM)’’

funded by the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft will start at the University of Freiburg on April 1, 2026. Via this programme, several

doctoral researcher (PhD) positions

in the field of experimental and theoretical particle and astroparticle physics will be opened. The positions are offered for 3 + 1 years. The deadline for applications is January 20, 2026, however, later applications will be accepted until the positions are filled.

We are looking for highly motivated candidates with an excellent master degree in physics.

Applications are to be sent electronically in one pdf file to newsm@physik.uni-freiburg.de. They should include a CV, copies of certificates of degrees, a short letter of motivation clearly specifying the field of interest, and the names and contact addresses of at least two referees.
