Im Zentrum meiner Forschungstätigkeiten stehen soziale, wirtschaftliche, politische und ökologische Transformationsprozesse im Globalen Süden. Meine Forschungen befassen sich mit theoretischen sowie gesellschaftlich und praxisrelevanten Fragestellungen zu den Beziehungen zwischen Menschen, Gesellschaft und Umwelt, Ressourcennutzung, der (Re-)Produktion von sozialen Ungleichheiten und Zukunftsgestaltung.

Laufzeit:  Erste Förderphase: 2019-2023 / Zweite Förderphase 2023-2026

Die Entwaldung tropischer Regenwälder ist Teil der immer bedrohlicher werdenden globalen ökologischen Krise. Große Regenwaldgebiete Indonesiens werden im Namen von Entwicklung und Umweltschutz auf neue Art und Weise genutzt, neuen Regierungsformen unterstellt und in neue Produktionsregime inkorporiert – basierend auf unterschiedlichen und teilweise kontroversen Vorstellungen von der Zukunft. Am Beispiel der Provinz Ost-Kalimantan untersucht das Projekt, welche Zukunftsvorstellungen von unterschiedlichen Akteur*innen produziert werden, wie unterschiedliche Zukunftsvorstellungen zum Ausdruck gebracht und in die Praxis umgesetzt werden.

The BiPoN forum aims to determine how human action and environmental factors interact in decision-making processes about edible food plants, including crops and trees, that are introduced and cultivated in different parts of the world. This brings about a range of interrelated questions addressing the establishment and crossing of both conceptual and physical boundaries.
