Guiding principles of teaching
Our lecturers create a participatory, practical learning environment that allows for different approaches and invites students to make an active contribution. They contribute their subject-matter expertise and didactic experience, thus promoting the development of key competences and future skills.
Our teaching is characterized by a variety of methods, interaction, and current research findings, as well as freedom of choice, transparent requirements, advising, and quality assurance. In this way, we create learning spaces together that foster individual development and support transfer to studies, careers, and society.
Information and services
As a teacher at ZfS, you benefit from comprehensive advising and practical materials to support you in all phases of your course – from the initial idea to its implementation and evaluation. In addition, we offer you quality assurance services, a collection of digital materials in our ILIAS room, continuing education courses in higher education didactics, and information on our annual lecturers’ meetings. Thus, you have everything you need to design successful teaching and at the same time to connect with other teachers.
Quality assurance
We award lectureships to experts from industry, research, school, and society to ensure practice-oriented and high-quality qualifications for our students. They have proven subject-matter expertise as well as relevant work, teaching, or training experience. Lectureships for the BOK course area are awarded following consultation and a decision by the ZfS Quality Commission. The Advisory Board is responsible for the Sustainability Certificate programme. Both of these committees are composed of representatives from relevant departments of the University.
Our courses are evaluated by both the students and the lecturers via the UFR’s central evaluation service. This feedback contributes to the continuous quality development of our teaching.
ILIAS room
Our ILIAS room is available to all lecturers. It contains all information and material of relevance for teaching relating to ZfS. Teachers receive access via the ZfS.
Under ‘Digital Teaching, ILIAS & co’, you will find useful guides, tutorials and discussion forums on digital teaching and the ILIAS learning platform.
