Welcome to the Chair of Educational Psychology
In our EPIC lab (Educational Psychology for Innovation and Change), we study how motivation, self-regulation, and feedback foster effective teaching and learning – and how education can be enhanced through evidence-based, digitally supported, and motivating learning environments.
In our research and teaching, we integrate psychological foundations with applied, evidence-based, and interdisciplinary perspectives across school, higher education, and achievement contexts to understand and foster effective learning and instruction processes.

Our Team
United by a shared passion for understanding motivation, learning, and teaching, we combine diverse backgrounds and perspective and seek to advance research, teaching, and knowledge transfer with curiosity, humor, and a commitment to improving educational practice.
Our Research
Our research focuses on learning and instruction across various educational contexts. Using experimental, longitudinal, and interdisciplinary approaches, we study how motivation, feedback, and digital learning environments can be designed to effectively foster learning and advance education in evidence-based and sustainable ways.

Theses & Internships
We offer opportunities for students to contribute to ongoing research in learning and instruction. Thesis projects and internships can involve experimental, longitudinal, or digital learning studies and provide hands-on experience in psychological research, data analysis, and evidence-based educational design.
