Italienisch (Italian)

Polyvalent dual-major bachelor's degree program - Major field (with secondary-school teaching degree option)

Italian is one of the great European languages of the civilized world. Italy, as the origin and center of the Roman Empire, is not only the cradle of the Romance-speaking world and to a significant extent of western culture as a whole, as can be seen from numerous historical sites and much evidence, but it was and still is a critical stimulus for other cultural areas – such as in the art and literature of the Renaissance, in the opera of the 19th Century and the avant-garde of the 20th. Studying Italian enables a deeper insight into this world and opens up communication with 85 million speakers.
