Hebammenwissenschaft (Midwifery Science)

Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) – 1 field degree program

The degree programme B.Sc. Midwifery Science offers a science-based and practice-oriented education in which the necessary knowledge, skills and abilities as well as scientific expertise are taught. The degree programme thus qualifies students for professional activities in various areas of midwifery. The degree programme is practice-integrated, with both theoretical study phases at the university and practical study phases at the clinical and non-clinical cooperation partners. The programme concludes with a Bachelor of Science degree and a state licence to practice midwifery. Students receive a salary throughout the entire programme. The degree programme prepares students for the varied and responsible work of midwives. Students acquire the skills required for comprehensive midwifery work in clinical and outpatient settings.

Admission: Restricted admission (35 places)
Selection and qualifying examination Procedure

Non-EU citizens (who do not hold a German Abitur) are not eligible to take part in this selection process. Places are allocated within a quota of 8% of the total number of places, based on the average mark achieved in the university entrance qualification. However, the criteria for the entrance examination must be met.

Application period: 1 June - 15 July

Attention: The mandatory subject-specific study aptitude test takes place twice a year – in April/May and October/November. Further information on registration can be found here.

Admission: Without special prerequisites for admission (free admission)
