Academic Personnel Development at the University of Freiburg

Successful academic personnel development calls for more than just individual support and skills development – it is based on an approach that incorporates and considers structural, cultural and individual advancement in equal measure. So, Academic Personnel Development at the University of Freiburg is working hard to offer researchers optimal work conditions and attractive career prospects as well as to promote a university culture that is fair to all and alert to discrimination.

Working closely with the university management, we develop strategies to enhance the structure and culture of the University. Services provided by our Centre for Advanced Researcher Development include target-group specific skills and career development programmes for post-doctoral researchers and professors. We offer both institutional and individual advice on issues of personnel development and career planning. We are also committed to university policy above and beyond the University of Freiburg, and advocate for a career path system in academia that is attractive, easier to plan and responsive to diversity needs.
