Sigurd Rothe is a lecturer in the Major Governance programme at UCF.
A diplomat by profession, he currently teaches political science at Sciences Po Paris, the University of Freiburg, and the University of Bayreuth. His expertise lies in foreign, security, defense, economic, and development policy, with a particular focus on Franco-German and Euro-African relations.
Before joining academia, Sigurd Rothe served as the Head of the Bavarian Office for Africa in Addis Ababa and as Political & Humanitarian Officer for Somalia at the German Embassy in Nairobi. He holds degrees in political science from the University of Freiburg and the Institut d’Études Politiques d’Aix-en-Provence, in international economics from Aix-Marseille Université, and in public administration from the Institut National du Service Public (INSP, formerly ENA) in Strasbourg.
