The Bachelor’s programme in Classical Philology explores the languages, literature, and cultures of the Greco-Roman world and their influence up to the present day. During your studies, you can choose to specialise in Greek or Latin philology. In addition to studying Greek or Latin language and literature, there is a particular focus on reception history, literary theory and Digital Humanities. With the skills they have acquired, graduates have access to numerous career fields in the areas of literature and cultural studies, as well as opportunities to pursue further Master’s degree programmes.

1. the Latinum or equivalent knowledge of Latin or the Graecum or equivalent knowledge of Greek and 2. performance in at least one other classical or modern foreign language assessed with the grade "satisfactory" in at least one school semester, which is shown in the University entrance qualification
