Romanische Sprachen und Literaturen (Romance languages and literatures)

Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) – 2 field degree program - Major Field

The Romance Languages and Literatures programme combines intensive study of at least two Romance languages with in-depth linguistic, literary, and cultural analysis. The programme offers exceptional breadth, allowing students to study up to six Romance languages while developing practical skills and academic understanding. Combining language, literary history, and cultural reflection, it provides diverse perspectives on the Romance-speaking world. Electives and a recommended semester abroad support individual profiling and intercultural competence. Students develop strong language skills, analytical thinking, and the ability to critically interpret complex texts and cultural phenomena. These skills prepare them for careers in cultural and educational institutions, media, publishing, international cooperation, or master’s in related fields.
