State Teaching Award

2019

Researchers Julia Gurol and Ingo Henneberg of the University of Freiburg’s Department of Political Science have been awarded the 2019 State Teaching Prize together with their colleagues from the University of Tübingen. Gurol and Henneberg are being recognized for their interactive, multi-site, multi-state seminar, which applies modern video conferencing technology and the online learning platform ILIAS.

2017

Anna Rosen received the State Teaching Award for her for her seminar “Applying Linguistics in the Foreign Language Classroom,” an elective course that she has been offering since the summer semester of 2014 and for which she has already been awarded the University of Freiburg’s Teaching Prize.

Thomas Kenkmann received the State Teaching Award for his work in the area of Geology. „Screening Earth – A Student (Re)Search Project“

2011

Janina Kirsch received the State Teaching Award for her work in the area of Neurosciences. “Das menschliche Gehirn – Ein Mal- und Bastelkurs”

2010

Yiannos Manoli received the State Teaching Award for his work in the area of Microelectronics – Teaching Complex Technical Relationships by Means of Intuition and Interaction.

2008

Andreas Bihrer received the State Teaching Award for his work in the area of Medieval Studies.

2007

Heiner Schanz received the State Teaching Award for his work in the area of Environmental Sciences. Concept for the innovative degree program “Environmental Governance”

2006

The Summer Campus of the Department of Computer Science received the State Teaching Award for work in the area of Computer Science.

2005

Martin Flashar received the State Teaching Award for his work in the area of Archaeology. “Practice-Oriented and Interdisciplinary Teaching Projects on the Educational Use of the University Archaeological Collection”

2004

Caroline Röhr received the State Teaching Award for her work in the area of Inorganic and Analytical Chemistry

2003

Sieghard Beller received the State Teaching Award for his work in the area of Psychology.

2002

The “Forest Ecology Online” Work Group received the State Teaching Award for its work in the area of Soil Science and Forest Nutrition.

2001

Franz-Josef Leithold received the State Teaching Award for his “Multimedia Teaching and Learning Program: Literature and Film – Effi Briest,”

Eva-Maria Faber received the State Teaching Award for her work in the area of Theology.

Barbara Henze received the State Teaching Award for her work in the area of Theology.

Eveline Dürr received the State Teaching Award for her work in the area of Ethnology.

Fred Krüger received the State Teaching Award for his work in the area of Cultural Geography.
