Beschreibung

The position will be associated to the particle theory group of H. Rzehak. Applicants should exhibit experience in the fields of physics beyond the Standard Model, Higgs physics, and the calculation of radiative corrections. Experience with modern computational methods, different computer tools as well as the development of computer tools will be beneficial.

At present, the particle groups at the University of Freiburg consist of the theory groups of S. Dittmaier (focus on electroweak interactions), H. Rzehak (focus on physics beyond the Standard Model), and S. Vogl (focus on astroparticle physics), and the experimental ATLAS groups of K. Jakobs and M. Schumacher, the LHCb group of M. Gersabeck, as well as the astroparticle physics group of M. Schumann.

The theoretical and experimental groups are collaborating in research projects. Applicants are encouraged to collaborate with local PhD students and postdocs as well as to take advantage of the ample expertise in particle physics at the department. Applicants must hold an outstanding PhD degree and have previous postdoc experience. Applicants should provide a curriculum vitae, a list of publications, and a short research statement as well as contact details of three referees.

The position includes a teaching load of 4 hours/week (4 SWS). The possibility of further qualification (habilitation) is given.

The requirements according to the German civil servant system need to be fulfilled.

The position is initially limited to three years until 31.10.2027 with the possibility of renewal up to a total of six years.

The salary will be determined in accordance with A13.
